It’s cold but sunny!

It’s cold but sunny!

It’s been almost a month that i was away from Dublin. And I look forward to the weekend and go for a walk in the Phoenix park. I knew there was going to be some sun in the morning but I didn’t expect to see the green fields in white ! It was 1-2 degrees and there was white frost all around. 🥶❄️☀️ Still I didn’t change my mind, started my way but thinking that I’ll walk the same route…

A sunny saturday morning in december

A sunny saturday morning in december

And of course it’s a golden opportunity to walk. It is cold, that’s true, but you don’t see sun in Dublin everyday 😉 Every time I try to discover new areas and extend the route a bit. The best part I like in this route is the bendy part of it. In the morning the sun will shine on your face if you are walking towards the gate close to my place, Island Bridge. And for this reason I started…

Another route in Phoenix Park

Another route in Phoenix Park

This Friday, I had a look at the weather forecast and saw that Saturday will have some sun, but Sunday will be all rainy.. So I woke up on a Sunday morning with the mood that I’ll stay at home.. not that I won’t enjoy it, but I even skipped my morning walk. It was a dark and a rainy morning. I was reading my book, and around 9:30 the environment started to get brighter and brighter.. When I looked…

Cycling @ Phoenix Park

Cycling @ Phoenix Park

Finally I got some time and rent a bike to cycle around Phoenix Park. I checked the weather forecast and Was expecting that it was going to be sunny on Sunday but…. no luck. (The sun shined between 2-4 pm, but I cycled in the morning) even it rained when I decided to take a video 🙂 I made a whole tour around the park and then went through the main road. It took around 70 mins in a discovery…

Howth – A short hiking

Howth – A short hiking

Howth is a place; a peninsula, for hiking that one of my colleagues mentioned to me for quick plans. Close to city, and also very colourful.. There are couple of different routes, and I chose the one below, for around 2 hours. Actually it wasn’t really planned.. This Sunday I booked an appointment to see a car (I was planning to buy one, but I think I will rent for some more time.. another story..) and after that I wanted…

First day in Ireland

First day in Ireland

I want to start with my last day in Dubai.. I couldn’t imagine that it would have been that hard.. I was thinking what would be the last things that I want to do in Dubai.. And I decided two things:1. Watching the sunset (at crescent of Palm Jumeirah)2. Have a dinner in my favourite Turkish restaurant. My flight was early morning, so I couldn’t sleep, and spent the last hour driving around. The Jumeirah road was still crowded though…

Cycling in the middle of the desert!

Cycling in the middle of the desert!

Another one in my to-do list before leaving UAE.. Though Abu Dhabi or Dubai (or the other emirates) are in the middle of the desert, we as citizens feel it (cause it is hot!!) but we don’t see it that much.. I don’t want to count the one between Abu Dhabi and Dubai highway (Seth Zayed road) I mean the dunes, just a couple of trees here and there, the silence or the wind’s voice all around.. Muhammed came up…

Zipline through Dubai Marina

Zipline through Dubai Marina

After the world’s longest zipline in Jebel Jais, I waited for the company to open the 7 ziplines but no luck.. So me and my friend (Islam) decided to try the other Zipline in the middle of the city, Dubai Marina.. I was quite comfortable, having an idea on what to expect also a bit underestimating the new experience 🙂 in the end I’ve done the longest one before and it was super fast. This zipline was between one of…

Not just a simple cake ;)

Not just a simple cake ;)

It’s been so long that I haven’t gone to kitchen to bake smth. And when my friends invited me to their daughter’s birthday, i thought that it is a good opportunity to go back.. I prepared small cakes with butterfly, tulip, heart, star, ladybug shapes using a cake mold that helps to bake 3D cakes 😀 And the surprising part was to decorate them, using chocolate sauce, colored icings, small chocolate drops, colorful sugar drops.. We enjoyed a lot !!…

Abu Dhabi Special Olympics World Games 2019

Abu Dhabi Special Olympics World Games 2019

Volunteering has been an important value in my life since 2011, when I met the Science Heroes Association and FIRST. I do believe in “contributing to community” in any forum and since then I try to support organizations continuously. I have to admit that my company IBM’s position in supporting its employees for volunteering is also a significant factor. I heard about Abu Dhabi Special Olympics in October 2018 with an email from our HR Manager:Dear Hasibe,IBM will be supporting…
